The crew behind the Transition Extreme park have just emailed, letting us know that work has begun on their park in Aberdeen.
Some good stuff to come, with some good looking bowl ideas in the plans.
...They also have a really good article written by John Rattray. Well worth a read. |

Skateboard Scotland are proud to announce the first ever all-weekend Scottish pro/am skate jam to be split across two of the country’s finest indoor skate parks. Anyone who experienced last year’s War of the Roses event in Bolton and Leeds should know what to expect – two days of solid skating, prize money and product, only this time with a distinctly Scottish twist. |

PE on a roll with skateboarding
Dundee schools are to offer PE classes in skateboarding and in-line skating as part of a radical plan to help tackle childhood obesity.
Dundee City Council is believed to be the first local authority in Scotland to offer sports classes based at a skatepark. Education officials believe the rethink will attract pupils who may not be interested in traditional sports such as football and rugby.
Skateboarding has been recognised as a valid sporting activity in the wake of the Scottish Executive's plans to tackle the country's childhood obesity problem.
Dundee has taken a lead by introducing PE classes based at the Factory Skatepark in the city's Douglas area.
Derek Marshall, director of the Factory Skatepark, said: "We have linked up with the council to offer all schools in Dundee the chance to use the facilities here . . . which I think is a first for a local authority in the UK." |
