Edinburgh Skatepark Meeting PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kevin Parrott
Friday, 30 May 2008

Can you please note and prioritise in your diaries that the next community engagement meeting with the public regarding the Proposed Skatepark - Saughton Park, will take place at Carrickvale Community Education Centre Wednesday 25 June 2008 . We have arranged for a full consultation event and meeting to take place. From 2:00 - 5:00pm there will be an open/drop-in session with a staffed exhibition and from 7:00 - 9:00pm there will be an open meeting with the stakeholders and public chaired by Councillor Deidre Brock. Councillor Nick Elliott-Cannon will also be attending the meeting but slightly later due to his surgery commitments that evening.

Thanks,

Sam Paterson

City gives OK to skatepark

Edinburgh Evening News

30 April 2008

CITY councillors have finally backed plans to build a new £750,000 skatepark in west Edinburgh.

Following approval at yesterday's culture and leisure committee, the latest scheme will now go out for consultation with skaters and local residents.

The proposals for Saughton Park will end years of wrangling over the location of a skatepark, after the council was forced to abandon plans for Inverleith Park.
