Monday, 30 March 2009

is unfortunately closed at the moment due to anti-social behaviour.

Kettering Borough Council have been forced to close the Ise skatepark until further notice. The council and the police have received numerous complaints regarding excessive noise and anti-social behaviour from the skate park after its official closing time.

The police have also received reports that council operatives have been verbally abused and physically threatened.

Due to these issues, Kettering Borough Council have closed the skate park.

The Police and Kettering Borough Council are urging adults and parents of youths using the skate park at Grantown Close Kettering to ensure that the facility is not entered whilst it is officially closed.

Persons found at the park may face prosecution under anti-social behaviour laws.

A council spokesperson said: "If the park is re-opened, the message from the police and the KBC is for people to use the facility but respect the rights of local residents to a quiet life and vacate the area when it is closed.

"The message is simple; if the facility is abused then it will be removed spoiling it for the vast majority of persons that use it lawfully."

If you witness anyone misusing the facility then the Police and the council would urge you to report such misuse to either agency to protect it from being permanently withdrawn.

You can do this by contacting the Police on 08453 700700 and ask for the North East Safer Communities Team or e-mail the North East Safer Communities Team on This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it or the council on 01536 410333
