Skate ramp calls for Axbridge PDF Print E-mail

YOUNGSTERS in Axbridge are appealing for a skate ramp to be set up in the town.

Teenagers claim there is nothing for them to do and nowhere for them to pursue their hobby in the area.

But town councillor Pauline Ham said the council has already put four piles of dirt in the corner of The Furlong for the youngsters to turn into a BMX track.

Cllr Ham said: "They were put there at the request of the youngsters who wanted to design their own track.

"When they've done that we can look at getting a ramp but the dirt has never been used."

The council agreed it would like to hear from anyone who would like a skate park in the town.

District and town councillor Liz Scott said: "We provide facilities for cricket and football, it would be nice to spend a bit of money on these people who feel they are being left out.
