Croyde Skateboard Area: Saved PDF Print E-mail
Written by Kevin Parrott

It gives me great pleasure to announce that our planning application to make legitimate and legal our little Children’s skateboard area to the rear of Croyde Village Hall has been given:~

Decision 47303: FULL PLANNING APPROVAL

Contrary to some people’s belief, it was never the intention to create a permanent skateboard area at Croyde Village Hall, just a small temporary children’s skateboard area (phase1), with the hope that in the future (phase2) a super-good huge permanent SKate park would be built somewhere nearby.  However, the council and the village hall were forced in to applying to make it permanent or close it down. At that time, those were the only options on the table, close or go for full planning for the current temporary site.

On behalf of the young people of the area, an enormous big thanks to:
Georgeham Parish Council, Croyde Village Hall management committee, Pat Barker and North Devon District Council, The planning department at NDDC, the local police (probably our biggest supporters, who have supported us and helped us in everything that we have done), Unison Holiday Village (Nalgo), Paul Cole Associates ltd, sorry if I’ve missed you off this list, there are just so many major supporters !!!

To the young people of Croyde and Georgeham,  WELL DONE,  YOU DID IT.

A special thanks to: Beau Bromham, Cameron Maddocks, Charlie Hough, Adam Spring, Dominic Heyland and Tom Ball without these young people there would be NO skateboard area, thanks guys.

A special huge thanks to each and every one of the 220 people who wrote in and supported our application to give the local youngsters something to do and somewhere to go.  In the end it basically came down to numbers: 220 local people took the time to write in and support us which, considering the resident population, is a huge amount of people. Thanks to you all, in the end every single letter did count.  From all the young people – THANK YOU.
