Working together on design of skate park 19 March 2009 Bristol Evening Post More than 20 people got together to plot the future shape of Cheddar's skate park. A meeting between interested teenagers, a skate park designer and the Cheddar Local Action Team nudged forward plans for a UK standard BMX, skateboard and inline roller skate park.
Action team member Julian Sayer said: "It was really encouraging, the most positive thing that has happened in past few months. "Marc Churchill of Gravity Engineering Ltd kicked off with a speech saying it was our park and asking what everyone wants in it, and we will do our damndest to get everything in. "There's a lot of factors to incorporate, along with the young people's views of what they want. The adults are there to give the youngsters a nudge and a prod." The next meeting is on Monday, April 6, at the Corner House, Station Road, at 7.30pm. See www.cheddarskatepark.co.uk for more details. |
