Four years ago the skaters of Hertford formed the 'Hertford Skatepark Group' to organise the bikers and skaters and to campaign for a skatepark. They have now got a site, planning permission, a basic idea of their design and with their help Herts council have got almost to the point of build. With further fundraising, a superb park with significant transitioned and street areas will be built (although this may be done in stages).
However, with little involvement in the tendering process (Which is the make or break of getting a good park), the Hertford Skatepark Group have found themselves in a situation where the park could be unsiutable for their needs. They wish for as many people as possible to attend a meeting next Monday night to ensure suitability of the company for the end users.
The meeting will take place on Monday 31st July at Castle Hall, The Wash, Hertford at 6.30pm where a consultation meeting will be held.
These meetings really are one of the most important parts of the skatepark process. One evening of your time and the right questions asked could really make sure this is a great asset to the UK scene.
