The skatepark in Wildridings is now closed due to vandalism

A popular skate park in Wildridings has been closed after vandals caused so much damage it was too unsafe to use.

Vandals ripped railings from the top of the half-pipe at the park in Mill Park off Wildridings Road at the weekend.

Bracknell Town Council was forced to close the facility amid safety fears.

Mary Harris, town council clerk, said: “Persons unknown have forcibly removed the railings from the top of the half-pipe.

“They have just pushed them and it must have taken real strength because they’re definitely broken rather than pulled out.

“I can’t say how long the park will be closed for as it might need specialist equipment to fix it and it will be an expensive job.”

The railings were okay on Friday night but by Monday morning the vandals had struck, leaving the broken rails arranged neatly nearby.
