Tickets for the UKSA National Championships go on sale as of this morning.

Advance weekend tickets are £16 and are available directly from Adrenaline Alley skatepark over the phone or in person at the park itself.

We strongly suggest buying tickets in advance as it is looking likely that the venue will be at capacity.

Campaign photo for new skatepark at The Level, Brighton PDF Print E-mail

Brighton skateboarders and Nancy Platt, who is standing as Labour’s parliamentary candidate in Brighton, are arranging a campaign photo at The Level on Monday 18th August at 1pm to help speed up plans for a new concrete skatepark at The Level.

The existing park is heavily worn and has been in need of replacement for several years. Plans for a new skatepark have been ‘in the pipeline’ since 2002, but now local skaters tired of waiting are taking it upon themselves to make their voice heard and help to speed up the process.

The Level has a long skateboarding history dating back to the late 70’s, but over the past decade has suffered from a lack of investment and has been poorly maintained. The hugely popular mini ramp was removed due to rot in 2003 and has not been replaced, along with the driveway’s flat rail which was removed as police evidence after a local skater got stabbed!

The photo is being taken to demonstrate the amount of support for the new skatepark plans and organisers of the event hope to generate publicity in local media to generate further support.

Organiser Jack Forester said “If you live locally, please come down and show your support for the plans. You’ll also get the opportunity to express your opinion about the project and get your mug in the paper!”

To keep up to date with the campaign join the Facebook group or visit the Myspace page .

This weekend was a bit of a mix up!  The first day at Hayle was quite nice weather wise so the unsponsored guys got their chance.  Alex
Halford dominated the group with a good mix of speed and tricks.
Luke Waterhouse had the speed lines and cruised with style.  Wes Denman skated with an element of Brent Atchley and chucked out a wild 540 boneless much to the enjoyment of the crowd.  On the sketchier side of life Batfink held on to some reckless nosepicks in his big socks and ended in 4th with Tom Ball in 5th who had the keenest mum there!

So here's the results:

1st:  Alex Halford
2nd:  Luke Waterhouse
3rd:  Wes Denman
4th:  Batfink
5th:  Tom Ball

The best trick comp went off and the chaps were made to work hard for their cash.  In the end Sam Bosworth walked away with £90 out of the £200 total with Churchill, Goffy, Mike Wright all taking a few quid off of MC Porno.

Unfortunately the Sunday event was rained off meaning the main sponsored division never ran.  Re-running the event isn't really an option so the prize money has been carried over to Concrete Carnival 2 at the Gasworx skatepark in Bridlington on 23rd/24th August.  The total prize fund for this event now stands at £2000 plus goodies from all the sponsors - Vans, Oakley, Relentless, Cliche, Indy, Skull Candy, Creature, XBOX,
