Congratulations Sam Bosworth
News - Other News
Sunday, 02 August 2009
Hey all,

The UK has their  first ever winner of an Xgames skate contest!!!
Yesterday 31st July in LA history was made for the second time this year for the Uk Vert scene.

Sam Bosworth for Cornwall became the winner of Xgames Vert 2009. Second place was Sam Beckett also for the UK and in 3rd place Pedro Barros from Brazil.
What seems like a close fought out contest the UK guys came out on top.

I’m sure you will all agree this is a well deserved result for Both the Sam’s who have blown up like rockets in the last few years.

As they now head home straight for Boardmasters in Newquay this will make next weekend even more exciting.
...And to top it off Alex Perleson is also heading for Newquay and stands a good chance of winning Xgames Pro tomorrow .

Boardmasters this year looks like it will be one of the best we have ever seen.

Don’t miss it.

See you on the beach.

Beckett takes the win at the IVS Final

What a final it was!

Today, saw Sam Beckett win the Independent Vert Series at Creation Skatepark, in Birmingham. This was the location for the final Leg of the Series  and right from the start things were going off.

The B Group Title was taken by Oakley Liddell from Bude, which now earns him a place to ride with the big boys next year. Close second was local boy Joe Atkins and 3rd place was Nick Hanson
from Nottingham.

It was predicted that Beckett was going to clean up and that he did, with just about all runs clean and well over 75 points out of 100 this put him well ahead. Sam Bosworth took second place and put on a good show with some incredible trick combo’s to finish his Vert series campaign. Alex Halford ended in 3rd place over all, again with some pretty special stuff going down most of it 7ft plus above the lip.

We finished off with a Best Trick comp, which Bosworth took with a Judo 540 and young Joe Atkins with a Finger Flip Indy Air.

Well done to all who took part today and thanks to all who helped to put the day together. Finally, a special Thanks to  Jim Atkins for making the ramp look the nuts!!

Thanks to all our Sponsors Oakley, Rockstar, Vans, Protec, Flip and Bones Wheels.

Check the Myspace for full results.

See you all again next year for the 4th Vert Series with a little Twist.

Watch this space...

This just came through from our man in the field, Wingy:

Afternoon all,

This Sunday 5th July is Final Leg of the Independent Vert Series at Creation Skatepark Birmingham.

It’s looking tight for the Title Sam Beckett is on Favourite to win the series for the A group but if he drops a few places Sam Bosworth can take Victory.

Same in the B Group very tight for all top 3 places between Oakley Liddel,Joe Atkins and Nick Hanson.

And  we now have some tasty cash for Best trick to finish the series off.

With just about all riders in attendance this is defiantly going to be a absolute belter!

Look forward to seeing  you all in Brum!!

See you on the platform.
