TO POTTERS BAR SKATERS AND BMXERS:
Dear All,
This is to update you on the extension of the Furzefield skatepark. The project has been delayed due to additional works that have been required such as fencing, lighting and CCTV which will provide a better facility.
From discussions with the skatepark firm, Bendcrete, we have decided to delay the project until the New Year. This is because Bendcrete aren't available now until late November and construction firms close down over the Christmas period. We didn't think it a good idea to start the project and run into the risk of delays which would leave the site unfinished and unoccupied during school holidays.
The bowl feature should take approximately one month to complete but this will depend on the weather. Currently, we are aiming for mid-January 2009 once the school holidays have finished, but I will let you know more details nearer the time.
On the positive side, the new flood lighting should be working next month which will extend the usage of the park.
We thought we would hold an event during the Easter holidays with competitions, etc. More details will follow nearer the time.
Thanks for your patience and apologies for the delay.
With kind regards,
Fiona Leadley Landscape Design Officer Parks & Amenities |

Lovenskate went to Bolivia, South America. Traveling from the mountains of La Paz to the jungles of Santa Cruz, this skateboard film documents our journey. I am pleased to announce that after almost a year in the making, SUPER JUMBO is complete. As I write this 1000 copies are being pressed and packaged in a DVD Digipak. To mark it's release, Lovenskate and Imagecleaver are holding a preview at the gallery & bar Jaguar Shoes - 34-36 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch London. There will be viewings at 7pm and 9pm, as well as an exhibition of photos by Bolivian Alfredo Coloma documenting the skate scene in La Paz. http://video.mpora.com/watch/SY3J1mKjd/ |
